We work with support and care for the elderly and for people with disabilities. The goal is for them to be able to live as active and independent lives as possible.
The Care and Welfare Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and welfare. Here, approximately 7,500 employees work based on our values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. With us, there are great opportunities to take responsibility, develop, and contribute with your expertise. We strive for an organizational culture built on trust and pride in our work.

We are now looking for hourly substitutes and summer staff for our LSS accommodations in Bälinge and Björklinge, located about 10-20 km north of Uppsala in nature-friendly areas. Do you have experience in the care profession? Do you want a job where you truly make a difference? We warmly welcome your application!
This position involves work at three group homes and is for hourly employment as well as summer work during the period from July to August.
The services are aimed at individuals with multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Two of the services are located in quiet areas in Bälinge, and one is located in Björklinge. All three services are close to nature. Staff are present around the clock with awake night/sleeping on-call. We work with alternative augmentative communication and clear pedagogical methods.
Job Description
Your responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment for individuals, assisting and providing support in personal care, motivating and participating in various leisure activities, and being a contact for their network. Your work also includes working with alternative augmentative communication (AAC), low-arousal approaches, and support for various activities in the home environment and outside the residence.
With us, you will have a varied job where you use your skills and commitment to meet people's needs. As a care worker, you are a key person in people's everyday lives. You work closely with individuals, build relationships, and contribute to safety, independence, and quality of life.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in the care profession and who communicates fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have a high school diploma in care and welfare or adult education in care and welfare, or nursing training equivalent to nursing assistant competence. Experience with alternative augmentative communication (AAC) and familiarity with low-arousal approaches is a plus. A valid driver's license (B) is also preferred.
To fit into the role, you collaborate well with others and have a responsive and flexible communication style. You are good at listening and express yourself clearly. You are an initiative-taking person who is willing to take responsibility and start activities to achieve set goals. At the same time, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust both your perspective and your approach. You see opportunities in changes and handle them with a positive and solution-focused perspective. Additionally, you have the ability to empathize with others' perspectives and situations without taking over their feelings, making you an empathetic and respectful colleague.
